A wonderful life has ended. Fidelyn Perez Valdoria passed away unexpectedly of heart attack, with her family at her side on April 30, 2011 at St. Boniface Hospital. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Elmer, her daughter Julianna and son Jasch, her father Mike of California, her sisters Maricris (Pip) of Philippines, Maryanne (Joseph) of Alaska, Helen (Do) of California, Jesusa of Philippines, Perlita (Erwin) of Philippines, and Michelle (Geno) of Singapore.         As well, left to cherish her memory are her mother in-law, uncles, aunties, many nieces and nephews and many friends in Philippines and Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her mother Socorro, grandfather Sofronio and grandmother Juana.

            Fidelyn was born in Naic, Cavite Philippines on April 24, 1974. She graduated from Lyceum of the Philippines with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service. She worked as a Flight Attendant for two years on domestic flight in the Philippines. Fidelyn decided to immigrate to Canada in 1996 to have a better life. Upon coming to Winnipeg, she studied Health Care Aide course in Herzing College and took nursing in University of Winnipeg. She worked as a nurse at St. Boniface Hospital for thirteen years. This career becomes a passion. Later she added her skills and gifting in reflexology and deep muscle massage.

            In 1997, she met Elmer, the love of her life who was a doctor at St. Boniface Hospital. They are married in year 2000. Elmer love to cook for Fidelyn. They are married for eleven years. They spent together the summer vacations travelling extensively throughout North America. They have two children, who were born and raised here in Winnipeg.

            Fidelyn was an independent, energetic, hardworking woman who enjoyed life to the fullest. Her passions were movies, gardening and cooking. She was renowned for her fantastic Filipino dishes. Whenever the family got together they always looked forward to Fidelyn’s  pansit lungkao. She took pride in her flowers, especially the geraniums at their house front entrance. Her garden was always a sense of calm for her.

            The family would like to thank Dr. Raabey and the staff of St. Boniface Hospital. Cremation has taken place according to Fidelyn’s wishes. A gathering of family and friends will take place on May 6, 2011 at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin, Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.In lieu of flowers, donations will greatly appreciated to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba 200-6 Donald Street Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6,   PH:(204) 949-2000.
